Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is an education board of public as well as private schools, under the Union Government of India. The first education board that was set up in India was the Uttar Pradesh Board of High School and Intermediate Education in 1921, which was under authority of Rajputana, Central India and Gwalior. For the student of CBSE class 10th 2015 and CBSE class 12th 2015, the board will conduct an Annual Secondary School Examination. The Board is also responsible for the declaration of CBSE results 2015. The board also conducts Supplementary School Examination for the students who could not pass in the annual examination. In addition to that the Central Board of Secondary Education takes all the essential steps that it considers essential for smooth conduct of examination. In 1929, the government of India set up a joint Board named "Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Rajputana". This included Ajmer, Merwara, Central India and Gwalior. Later on it was restricted to Ajmer, Bhopal and Vindhya Pradesh. In 1952, it was renamed as the "Central Board of Secondary Education". The board conducts final examinations every spring for All India Senior School Certificate Examination (AISSCE) for Class 10th and 12th.The board also annually conducts the AIEEE exam for admission to undergraduate courses in engineering and architecture in numerous colleges spread over India. It also conducts AIPMT (All India Pre medical Test) for admission to major medical colleges in India. There are total numbers of 10 Regional offices of CBSE Board. All These regional offices also known as Delhi, Ajmer, Chennai, Guwahati, Panchkula, Allahabad, Patna, Bhubaneswar, Thiruvananthapuram (Trivandrum) and Dehradun.
